Both cars are built on a space frame of extruded aluminum rails and cast nodes, with aluminum panels that are bonded and riveted on.

Doing it right takes trained techs, a welding setup for aluminum, and a frame system that can measure an aluminum-bodied car. We have all of that, and our team is I-CAR Gold Class. We use Tesla OEM structural aluminum sections on S and X repairs, so the fit, the bonding and the corrosion protection match how Tesla built the car.

The Model X falcon wing doors hinge in two places, and the tolerances are tight. After a hit to the B-pillar or rear quarter, the doors often don't close or seal the way they should.

We realign the falcon doors to factory tolerances in-house. When the B-pillar itself is damaged, we repair the structure first and then set the doors, so they line up with a straight body.

The S and X have a large set of cameras and sensors. After structural, glass or exterior panel work, we recalibrate the whole driver assist system in-house and check Autopilot before delivery.
