Tesla Model Y collision repair in Los Angeles
Tesla Model Y collision repair usually comes down to the big aluminum castings at the front and rear of the car. Our Koreatown shop has aluminum-trained techs who work on them following Tesla's procedures.

The castings
The Model Y uses large single-piece aluminum castings at the front and rear where older cars had dozens of stamped steel parts welded together. Tesla calls them Giga Castings. It's a simpler way to build a car, and a harder one to fix. A moderate front or rear impact can damage the casting itself.
Depending on the damage, the casting is either sectioned or replaced. The bonding, riveting and weld-bonding steps are specific to Tesla's repair specifications, and our I-CAR Gold Class techs are trained on them. Casting sections and other structural parts are ordered from Tesla. We don't put aftermarket structural parts in a car your family rides in.
Glass roof and sensors
The Model Y has a panoramic glass roof and a wide windshield, both with cameras close by. Almost any real impact can knock the driver assist sensors out of alignment.
We recalibrate the full camera and sensor setup in-house after any repair to the roof, windshield, front bumper or pillars, and we check every sensor before the car leaves. If the glass roof is damaged, we replace the panel and recalibrate the roof cameras.
Model Y insurance claims
Casting damage often doesn't show until the bumper and trim come off. When we find it, we document the repair and send a supplement to the adjuster before we go further. We're a State Farm DRP shop, Geico Drive-Thru approved, and we work with every other carrier. If you have rental coverage, the rental is free while the car is here.
